From 12 to 13 August, the International Dog Shows were held on the picturesque grounds of the Sopot Hippodrome, attracting dog lovers from all over Poland and abroad. More than 4,000 dogs took part in the show. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Sopot, Jacek Karnowski, and the Marshal of the Pomeranian Region, Mieczysław Struk. Media patronage was provided by TVP Gdańsk, Radio Gdańsk, and the trojmiasto.pl website. But the real stars were the four-legged ones. Dogs from 10 FCI groups competed under the eye of an international panel of judges, vying for titles such as “Best Puppy”, “Best Junior”, and “Best Veteran”. On both days, excitement peaked during the BEST IN SHOW competition, where the most beautiful dog of the show was awarded. On Sunday, for the first time, the Best Dog of Both International Shows was also chosen. For younger dog enthusiasts, the organisers prepared a Young Handler Competition, in which children had the chance to showcase their skills in presenting their pets. The final of this competition took place at around 2:30 pm, and a special play area was set up for the youngest participants. In summary, this year’s International Dog Shows in Sopot were not just an opportunity to admire beautiful dog breeds, but also a place to exchange experiences and knowledge about caring for our four-legged friends. See you next year!
