On Sunday, 30 July, the 41st International Dog Show, held in Moszna, came to an end. More than 2,000 representatives of the canine world from all over Europe, as well as from the USA and Thailand, gathered for this three-day event. The gathering drew not only breeders but also many dog lovers to the park by Moszna Castle. The variety of dog sizes and breeds was impressive – from tiny Chihuahuas, through poodles, Belgian, German, and Polish mountain sheepdogs, all the way to Great Danes. Some lesser-known, so-called “unrecognised” or “new” breeds also had the chance to present themselves to the public. Among the rare, exceptional breeds shown in Moszna, visitors could see breeds such as the Kyrgyz Sighthound, the Moscow Watchdog, the Polish Hunting Spaniel, and the American Hairless Terrier. During the final, a judge from Spain selected the ten best dogs, and the winner turned out to be an Australian Shepherd who came to Moszna from Slovakia. Second place went to a Basenji, third to a Havanese, and fourth to a Black Russian Terrier. It has been announced that the next edition of the show will also be held in Moszna, but at a different time – on the second-to-last weekend of April next year. See you next year 🙂
